Two people died and four others were injured Saturday night when a Polaris all-terrain vehicle overturned near Halawa Valley Park on Molokai, according to the Maui Police Department. A 20-year-old Kaunakakai woman was driving the ATV with five passengers on a dirt roadway when the vehicle veered toward the south shoulder as it entered the highway, according to a preliminary investigation. She attempted to regain control, but the vehicle crossed the roadway and struck a large tree stump on the north shoulder, police said. The driver and a 19-year-old Kaunakakai woman who was riding in the front passenger seat died at the scene.
