The victory unified the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO titles under Thorslund. Thorslund previously held the WBC and WBO bantamweight titles before vacating them in June 2025 after announcing her pregnancy. A return in January 2026 brought Thorslund the WBC interim featherweight title before she moved back down to 118 pounds to challenge Johnson. Johnson had collected the belts that became available during Thorslund’s absence and came into Saturday night as the undisputed champion.
