Man drove to McDonald’s after taking drugs, court hears
['Isabelle Pinnock']
Sidmouth Herald | News
James Joyce, of Alsa Brook Meadow, Tiverton, pleaded guilty to drug-driving and possession of ketamine on February 5 this year when he appeared at Exeter Magistrates' Court.
The court was told that police were called by a member of staff to a McDonald’s restaurant in Lowman Way, Tiverton, with concerns about a drive-through customer who appeared to be under the influence.
The court heard a member of the public took the keys from Joyce and officers had to help him exit his vehicle.
The magistrates imposed an interim driving ban, and Joyce was released on unconditional bail to return to Exeter Magistrates’ Court on October 21.
