Adelaide’s greatest goalkicker Taylor Walker has called time on his AFL career, with the curtain to come down at the end of the Crows’ finals campaign. Walker, already over 250 goals ahead of Tony Modra as Adelaide’s leading goalkicker, notched his milestone 700th goal late last month at home to Collingwood. Rocked by the death of senior coach Phil Walsh in July, Walker stood tall and still took the Crows to the second week of the finals. Walker, twice voted captain of the year, stepped down from the leadership role at the end of 2019. “On behalf of our playing group and football department, as well as everyone associated with the Crows, we thank Tex for everything he has given to the club and game generally.”
