A powerful storm has brought chaos to Adelaide’s northern suburbs on Monday morning, with floodwaters forcing the closure of a crucial intersection and leaving multiple vehicles stranded. The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) issued several severe weather warnings for South Australia, including a warning for damaging winds in the Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula and Flinders Ranges. BOM said a strong cold front had tapped into a deep layer of tropical moisture, bringing damaging winds, heavy rain and thunderstorms to several states. The worst of the system was expected to move into the Tasman Sea later on Monday, taking much of the heavy rain and damaging winds with it.
