WA Treasurer Rita Saffioti has defended WA’s GST share and hit out at a fellow mining state following media reports that called for an end to the state’s “armchair GST ride”. Saffioti said WA is contributing far more than its population share when it comes to exports. “Nearly 50 per cent of the nation’s exports come from WA,” she said.
