Paderu: Alluri Sitarama Raju district has secured the first position in the State in all three key categories under the Jaladhara-Jalaharathi programme, which aimed at water conservation, development of water resources and enhancement of storage capacity. The district stood first in the State in the number of works taken up, new water storage capacity created and expected outcomes under the programme. Speaking on the achievement, Nishanthi said the results reflected the collective efforts of officials from various departments, field-level staff and other stakeholders. She said the Jaladhara-Jalaharathi programme would help strengthen water security, increase irrigation potential and improve water storage capacity besides creating sustainable water resources. The programme would be particularly beneficial to tribal and rural areas of ASR district,she said.
