Vijayawada: The 1975-76 batch of old students of Koneru Basavaiah Chowdary Zilla Parishad Boys’ High School at Patamata in Vijayawada has pledged to provide essential infrastructure facilities to the institution at an estimated cost of more than Rs 50 lakh. A group of alumni, led by NRI alumnus Koneru Kumar, visited the school on Sunday and interacted with the teaching staff to understand the infrastructure requirements. The alumni discussed various development works, including construction of a dining hall, auditorium, fencing around the school ground and a watchman’s room. The old students estimated that the proposed works would cost more than Rs 50 lakh and assured the school authorities that the required constructions would be taken up at the earliest, irrespective of the final expenditure. Later, the school teachers and students felicitated the visiting alumni.
