Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu inspected the water levels at Prakasam Barrage in Vijayawada and reviewed the Godavari water being diverted to the Krishna Delta through Pattiseema project. The Chief Minister briefly stopped his convoy on the barrage while returning to his residence after participating in World Tribal Day celebrations in Vijayawada on Sunday. He observed the barrage filled with Godavari water and remarked that the abundant inflows had given it a pleasant and impressive appearance. With substantial Godavari water being diverted through Pattiseema, irrigation water was being released through various canals downstream of Prakasam Barrage to meet the requirements of crops in the Krishna Delta, the officials explained. The Chief Minister directed officials to make optimal use of available water resources and take all necessary measures to overcome irrigation-related difficulties through effective water management.
