CHITTOOR: District Superintendent of Police Tushar Dudi said that the Chittoor district police have intensified efforts to prevent minors from driving vehicles, with a focus on creating awareness among students, parents and motorists and taking action against those violating traffic rules. Road accidents involving minor drivers in Chittoor district resulted in nine fatal and four non-fatal accidents up to July 2026. Up to July 2026, six e-challans were issued for minor driving, with a total fine of Rs 30,210 at Rs 5,035 per challan. The SP warned that vehicle owners and parents could face legal action and fines if minors are caught driving their vehicles. He appealed to parents, schools, colleges and the public to cooperate with the police in preventing minor driving.
