The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) received a call shortly before 12.52pm reporting the incident. Fire crews from Omagh and Newtownstewart attended the scene, with the museum evacuated and temporarily closed while firefighters dealt with the fire. Crews wearing breathing apparatus used extinguishers and thermal imaging equipment to tackle the blaze and check for any spread of fire. Ventilation equipment was also used to clear smoke from the building. No further details on any injuries or damage have been provided.
