A restructuring of both Nelson Electricity and Network Tasman to streamline the operation of both networks was completed in September 2025. Network Tasman owns and operates the electricity network that distributes power to approximately 53,800 consumer connections in the Nelson and Tasman area. In addition to its principal activity, the company has interests in complementary businesses, including a fibre-optic network, property, On Metering Limited and advanced metering on the Network Tasman network. Network Tasman itself is wholly owned by the Network Tasman Trust.
