The trio became stuck on the challenging section of the screes yesterday (August 8), prompting an alert to Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team. The team leader made contact with the group and confirmed they were near the end of the most difficult terrain. A spokesperson for Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team said: "The group continued while pressing the PhoneFind button, allowing the Team Leader to monitor their progress in real time." With reassurance and guidance, the walkers followed instructions and continued safely to easier ground before the rescue team was stood down. The callout lasted around one hour and 25 minutes, beginning at 8.30 pm.
