Job Centre conversion could create five jobs at training centre

Last month Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council received the latest of four planning applications for the Job Centre Plus on Upper Coronation Street in Tredegar.
The Job Centre closed in 2017.
All applications have been made by Positive Care Limited with this being the main one which asks for full planning permission for the change of use of the building from an employment office and training centre to a vocational construction skill training centre.
Documents lodged with the application say that five employees are “proposed” for the training centre.
This was due to concerns that the building becomes a “halfway house” and provides accommodation for people released from prison.
