Good thriller books know how to keep readers on their toes, but even the best take time to set up their stories and to resolve them. It's a pleasant surprise when a thriller grabs readers within its first few pages, then holds their interest until its last chapter ends. It's a novel that's best experienced with as little plot knowledge as possible, as it fully takes readers on a ride. But as Gone Girl moves past that, the book proves it's a thriller that's never quite what it seems. If there's a book that's easy to lose hours to, it's this one.
