TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Eight people have died and one is reported missing due to the Habagat (southwest monsoon) phenomenon.
The monsoon intensified alongside Tropical Cyclones Luis and Maymay, which continued to batter parts of the Philippines, according to a government report on Sunday.
The NDRRMC reported that, as of 6:00 PM local time on Sunday, at least 124,000 families—or 486,000 people—had been affected by heavy rains and flooding across various regions of the Philippines.
A total of 170 houses sustained damage—comprising 13 completely destroyed and 157 partially damaged—while infrastructure damage is estimated at 105.5 million pesos (approximately Rp30.95 billion) and agricultural losses reached 3.5 million pesos (approximately Rp1.02 billion).
The NDRRMC stated that the central government, local governments, and other partners have distributed aid worth 13.93 million pesos (approximately Rp4.08 billion) to affected families.
