Earlier this year, the Detroit Lions signed quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to a one-year deal to play as Jared Goff's backup, but weeks later, it was revealed he was planning to retire. It wasn't long after that that news arrived regarding the Lions' new backup quarterback, Josh Dobbs. Due to Maye's excellence on the field, Dobbs had limited appearances, playing in four games and compiling 65 yards on seven completions. Since then, Dobbs has had brief stints as a backup quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers and Patriots. While the hope is that Goff will remain healthy for the coming season, it's good to have another veteran QB ready just in case.
