In what was a grand prix of attrition, former Suzuki teammates Joan Mir (Honda) and Alex Rins (Yamaha) were the first to crash on the opening lap. Fernandez established a one-second lead over Bezzecchi with Martin third, Marquez fourth and Ogura fifth.
