The Press Club of New Orleans' 68th Annual Excellence in Journalism Awards took place recently, and WWOZ won seven awards! Referring to the first place award for General Excellence in Radio, a judge noted that:WWOZ's format is one that works. You know it's local, because it sounds local -- local voices, local music, local events. We also took first place for Best Live Remote Broadcast for our Jazz Fest broadcast, as well as awards for Best Use of Facebook, Best Use of Instagram, Best Video Essay and two awards for Best Portrait photography.
