The new school year begins this week for many Fredericksburg-area public schools. All three elementary schools will be implementing the Ron Clark Academy House system to enhance a sense of belonging for all students. The badges will be given out during the first week of school, and will go into use on Monday, Aug. 17. Badges for students in preK through 5th grade will be secured to backpacks, and students in 6th grade and above are responsible for wearing the badge. (All students at King George Elementary School receive free meals under the Community Eligibility Provision; families do not need to fill out the application.)
