First baseman Kyle Stowers made an early exit from the Marlins’ 12-3 win over the Angels today due to what the Marlins described as left hamstring discomfort. The injury occurred on Stowers’ two-run single in the sixth inning, as Stowers was openly grimacing after rounding first base and he limped off the field after being replaced by pinch-runner Leo Jimenez. Tests will determine the extent of the hamstring issue, and the Marlins’ off-day on Monday gives Stowers some valuable healing time if he is only dealing with a day-to-day type of injury. A Grade 1 right hamstring strain suffered late in Spring Training sent Stowers to the IL at the start of the year, and he didn’t make his 2026 debut until April 19. The hot hitting continued today with a 2-for-4 performance that also included a triple and a run scored.
