ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT) – Rescue crews responded to the Corning Preserve Boat Launch for reports for a car that had driven into the Hudson River.
Police said 20-year-old Ahmed Hemedan of Albany strangled his sister, who was driving the car, causing her to drive into the water.
Hemedan was charged with one count of attempted murder and is scheduled to be arraigned in Albany City Court Monday morning.
Albany firefighters said they responded to the boat launch on Quay Street just off the Empire State Rail Trail at about 3:30pm Sunday.
A man named Smalls jumped into the water to help rescue the woman.
