At a recent work session, Frisco Town Council members discussed the continuing impacts of last winter’s low snowfall on the town’s economy, along with changes in tourism trends and plans for upcoming fiscal year 2027. But the town’s expenditures are also far below budget — Frisco has spent just north of $9 million so far this year, which is more than $2 million below projections. Sales tax revenue — which feeds into the town’s general fund — was also down in the first few months of 2026. “That does help us maintain some stability in some fluctuations in the economy,” Edwards said. These areas of opportunity outnumber Frisco’s challenges, Edwards said, helping to strengthen the town’s economy moving into next year and the budget drafting season.
