Do US Flight Attendants Have A Retirement Age Like Pilots?
['Patricia Green', 'Jack Mcgarity']
Simple Flying
One would think the retirement age for flight attendants and pilots would be similar, as they are both professions that work closely together in aviation.
So the question is, do flight attendants in the US have to retire at the age of 65 as pilots do?
Flight Attendants Vs. PilotsCredit: ShutterstockUS airline Pilots face a hard, federally mandated retirement age of 65 under the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
However, in 2007, the Fair Treatment for Experienced Pilots Act raised pilots' retirement age from 60 to 65.
Although this suggests that there are no restrictions on the age of flight attendants, there are no laws requiring that airlines restrict the age of flight attendants; practices vary between companies and regions.
