The Minnesota mining industry is set to get a big boost. The Trump administration announced last week over $2 billion in funding toward new mining projects, battery materials and rare earth alternatives, including over $180 million for mining education and training. “We’re thrilled this administration is doing something about it,” Colin Marsh with Mining Minnesota said. These types of jobs can be very exciting for young people that include travel, very high wages and a really exciting career.” Schools like the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and Duluth could benefit from these new grants.
