On today's episode, we welcome Kevin Sampsell, author of the new novel Baby in the Night from Portland’s Impeller Press. Kevin edited the 2009 anthology Portland Noir and serves as editor and publisher at Portland’s Future Tense Books. He works as an events coordinator at Powell’s Books, where he’s a passionate advocate for small press publications. In the words of Kimberly King Parsons: “Kevin Sampsell has written a wholly unique novel from inside a child’s mind, where reality and fable beautifully blur. Baby in the Night is a book about absence that somehow feels full, about a boy constructing a mythology to survive the unbearable wait for someone to come home.”
