Effective 2 p.m. today, August 9, the Evacuation Alert has been RESCINDED for one property in the St. Mary Lake area in relation to the Tower Creek wildfire. There are now no properties on Evacuation Alert or Order in the East Kootenay at this time. Those who have already registered for the service and haven’t confirmed their registered locations are properly “pinned” are also urged to verify. Information on how to register for the system can be found on the Emergency Information page on www.rdek.bc.ca. Anyone who would like assistance registering or ensuring their pin has been properly located can contact the Emergency Public Information line at 250-426-2188 or 1-855-346-2188.
