Jacob Posik’s Aug. 2 op-ed, “This is what democracy looks like to Maine Democrats?,” was a hard yet enlightening read. I congratulate Troy Jackson for his come-from-behind victory to be a candidate for the U. S. Senate. That is not what democracy looks like. As an elected county official — in the only county in Maine that holds nonpartisan elections — that means no primary elections for the candidates. There is no D or R on any county candidate on the ballot.
