The deadline, which was initially set for Saturday, August 8, 2026, has now been moved to Tuesday, August 11. INEC announced the extension in a statement on Sunday by the Chairman of its Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Haruna. Meanwhile, INEC has suspended the collection of Permanent Voter Cards in Osun State ahead of the August 15 governorship election. INEC said PVC collection in Osun commenced at the Registration Area level on July 22 and was initially scheduled to end on July 28. The commission reiterated its commitment to conducting a free, fair, credible and inclusive governorship election in Osun State.
