Georgia Man Arrested In Florida For $22,000 Jury Duty Scam

A 20-year-old Georgia man was arrested on Aug. 7, 2026, for allegedly stealing more than $22,000 from a Florida resident in an impersonation scheme, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Thomas Kelly Pullen of Savannah faces charges of grand theft, organized scheme to defraud, and impersonating a law enforcement officer.
Authorities stated that the victim, a resident of Marathon, Florida, reported receiving multiple phone calls in May 2026 from individuals claiming to represent the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Suspecting fraud, the victim contacted the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office to report the incident.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office noted that the investigation remains active, and additional charges or arrests by Monroe County and other law enforcement agencies may be pending.
