BROOKSVILLE, Fla. — A 57-year-old Tampa man is dead, and a 63-year-old passenger remains in serious condition following a two-vehicle collision early Sunday morning at a Hernando County intersection, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. State troopers reported that the crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. on August 9, 2026, at the intersection of State Road 50 and County Road 581. His 63-year-old female passenger, also from Tampa, suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The Florida Highway Patrol has not yet released the names of those involved, and the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
