The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has concluded her three-day working visit to the Northern and North East Regions with a visit to the Gambaga Alleged Witches Camp in the East Mamprusi Municipality. The visit, on Friday, August 7, 2026, formed part of efforts to assess the welfare of residents and engage traditional and local authorities on measures to improve their living conditions. The Minister paid courtesy calls on the Overlord of the Mamprugu Kingdom, Nayiri Naa Bohagu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga, and the Gabaraana, Alhaji Tahiru Tia. She also engaged the Municipal Chief Executive for East Mamprusi, David Bariche Bukari, on collaboration to improve the welfare and protection of camp residents. During an interaction with residents, the Minister heard concerns over the need for permanent shelter, access to clean water and other essential social services.
