MTN Ghana has launched its 2026 Sustainability Month at the company’s Head office in Accra, with a call for the company to move sustainability from awareness to measurable impact.
Speaking at the launch, CEO of MTN, Mr. Stephen Blewett, said that sustainability is now central to MN’s Ambition 2030 strategy, describing ESG as “a leadership discipline” that turns shared value from intention into results.
He disclosed that the month-long initiative under the theme ‘Together for a Sustainable Future: Small Actions, Big Impact’ reflects MTN’s commitment to responsible growth.
Highlighting progress, Mr. Blewett said MTN’s biodegradable SIM has reached over 4.7 million customers and kept an estimated 10,288 kilogrammes of plastic out of circulation.
On the social front, he pointed to 19 years of Y'ello Care, the MTN Ghana Foundation’s GHS3 million Vegetable Hub of Excellence training over 1,000 youth in climate-smart farming, and the company’s position as Ghana’s number one corporate blood donor.
