Operatives of the Ekiti State Police Command have arrested a 26-year-old man, identified as Sunday Samuel, over alleged cult-related activities in Efon Alaaye, Efon Local Government Area. The Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Command, Sunday Abutu, disclosed the arrest in a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Sunday. According to Abutu, police operatives immediately acted on the intelligence and launched an investigation that eventually led to Samuel’s arrest. A locally made single-barrel gun loaded with one cartridge and a mobile phone were recovered from him.” Following the arrest, the Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, CP Michael Falade, directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Ado Ekiti for further investigation.
