— Retired Major General Valentín Rosado Vicioso of the National Police called for a “deep and true” reform of the law enforcement institution and warned about what he considers missteps, violations of acquired rights, and breaches of procedures in the current transformation process of the National Police. Rosado Vicioso expressed his position in a communication addressed to journalist Danny Alcántara, of the program Hoy Mismo, which is broadcast on Color Visión, Channel 9, in which he expressed his support for the communicator’s recent statements and interviews about the police reform process. “We would never agree with blunders, violations of acquired rights and breaches of procedures that weaken instead of strengthen,” Rosado Vicioso stated in his letter. However, he clarified that he is not opposed to transforming the institution. On the contrary, he stated that a properly implemented reform would primarily benefit the police officers themselves.
