A portion of Frankstown Road in Penn Hills was closed for several hours Sunday as police and Allegheny County bomb squad investigated a suspicious package found outside a local business. Officers were dispatched to the 12000 block of Frankstown Road at 11:30 a.m.No injuries were reported and crews began clearing the scene shortly before 2:20 p.m. In a Facebook statement Sunday afternoon, the Penn Hills No. 7 Volunteer Fire Company said that “technicians analyzed the suspicious package that was later cleared safe from Allegheny County Bomb Squad.” Calls to Penn Hills Police Chief Jason Bonace were not immediately returned.
