Bird flu confirmed on the Far South Coast

The bird flu has made it’s way to the Far South Coast.
The State Government has confirmed a case of the H5 avian influenza was found in a dead Greater Crested Tern found near Narooma.
NSW Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer Dr Rhys Powell said the bird tested positive at CSIRO’s Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness.
Increased surveillance has been implemented here in the Far South Coast following the discovery of the bird flu in the area.
