On dark air-cured tobacco, Wigner said wrapper demand remains strong, while non-wrapper tobacco remains generally oversupplied.

Diel said spending this year is more focused on tobacco operations across South America, Africa and Asia, including growth projects, facility efficiencies and automation.
Looking ahead, Wigner said Universal is also assessing how forecasted El Niño conditions could affect crop supply in certain regions.
In addition to its core leaf tobacco operations, Universal offers integrated supply-chain services that encompass warehousing, distribution and ingredient sourcing for smokeless and novel tobacco products.
