The Bevy, in the Bevendean area of Moulsecoomb in east Brighton, is now within reach of owning its building for the first time. If the community succeeds in raising the funds, the pub building as well as the pub business would be fully community-owned. The pub's petition stresses that their campaign is "not about saving a struggling pub," as The Bevy has already proved the model works. The Bevy clarified: "Signing this Change.org petition supports our Asset of Community Value application.
