The crossing, which was previously situated outside Marks & Spencer on Marine Parade, in Worthing, was moved to better align with Montague Place earlier this year as part of the wider Montague Gardens transformation project.
A Freedom of Information Request submitted by The Argus has now revealed that the work to move the crossing cost around £48,000.
Worthing Borough Council said in January that the crossing was being moved to create "one flat route to the sea from the town centre," allowing people to walk directly through Liverpool Gardens and Montague Gardens to the seafront.
"It also aligns better with the new promenade access ramp, which again was raised by various disability groups."
