Butler Memorial Hospital is one of three Independence Health System facilities receiving recognition for a variety of specialties and care. U.S. News and World Report’s 2026-27 Best Hospitals edition has found that BMH earned High Performance ratings in the categories of abdominal aortic aneurism repair, hip replacement, and pacemaker implantation. A High Performing rating is the highest distinction a hospital can earn in these ratings and fewer than half of the thousands of hospitals evaluated earned a ‘High Performing’ designation in the types of care evaluated by U.S. News. Independence Health System’s Latrobe Hospital earned High Performing in four categories while Westmoreland Hospital earned High Performing in 10 categories and was also named a Best Regional Hospital, ranking 25 in Pennsylvania and fifth in the Pittsburgh region.
