By Tim WilkinSARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Irad Ortiz Jr., the four-time defending jockey champion at Saratoga, will not ride on Sunday after injuring his left foot on Saturday. Steve Rushing, Ortiz's agent, said the 33-year-old rider is day-to-day following the incident before the eighth race Saturday. “I talked to him this morning and he's doing good,” Rushing said Sunday morning at the Oklahoma Training Track. Ortiz was injured before the eighth race Saturday when his mount, second-time starter And The Runner Is (Oscar Performance) acted up in the post parade and Ortiz rolled his left foot. Irad Ortiz missed the first six days of the meet due to a suspension and one day riding out of town.
