Stephen R. “Steve” Burger, 79, of St. Anthony, passed away surrounded by family at 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Deaconess Memorial Hospital in Jasper, Indiana. He married Nancy Persohn on April 18, 1968, in St. Anthony Catholic Church. He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish and attended St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony, and was a member of the St. Anthony Conservation Club. Besides his parents, Steve is preceded in death by infant twin daughters, Sonya Grace and Tonya Marie Burger, and two brothers: Gerald Burger and Randall Burger. A Mass of Christian Burial for Stephen R. “Steve” Burger will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
