A controlled experiment has found evidence that Earth’s magnetic field may affect a subconscious part of human decision-making. Researchers have now tested whether an Earth-strength magnetic field can influence human behavior without participants being aware of it. During some trials, Earth’s natural magnetic field remained unchanged. In birds, they are associated with the detection of Earth’s magnetic field and magnetic navigation. Whether the human response to Earth’s magnetic field has any role beyond those laboratory conditions remains unresolved.
