A man accused of striking an officer's cruiser in Hallandale Beach and leading them on a chase in Hollywood on Saturday was arrested, police said. According to Hallandale Beach Police, at around 9:22 p.m., an officer was patrolling the 1700 block of East Hallandale Beach Boulevard when he saw a vehicle that was parked near a business that was closed. The officer was not injured, but the cruiser sustained about $5,000 in damage, police said. During a pursuit of the vehicle, which made its way to Hollywood, the driver tried to strike the cruiser. The driver was identified as 21-year-old Mohammad Chehade and is facing several charges, including aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer.
