The Okanagan’s lake and groundwater levels are at or near record lows, according to provincial data shared this week by the Okanagan Basin Water Board. According to the figures, both Okanagan and Kalamalka lakes started the year in relatively good stead but began to fall noticeably behind in May. By June, provincial data indicates Okanagan Lake peaked at 342 metres, compared with a historic average peak of around 342.4 metres. Similarly, Kalamalka Lake peaked this summer at around 391.2 metres, compared with an average peak of 391.7 metres.
