Even while his own home burned, Jim Kane continued to fight the Bradley Creek wildfire in an effort to save other homes. Kane has been a firefighter with the Okanagan Indian Band Fire Department for many years as a driver/pump operator and firefighter. “During the Bradley Creek wildfire, Jim was doing exactly what he's always done—risking his own safety to save the homes of others. Some 230 structures were lost in the Bradley Creek wildfire, including 30 homes from the Okanagan Indian Band and 200 from leased properties.
