Basketball Hall of Famer Don Nelson died at the age of 86, his family announced on Sunday. Nelson was a three-time NBA champion as a player with the Boston Celtics before transitioning to coaching and becoming a three-time NBA Coach of the Year. Nelson began his playing career with the Chicago Zephyrs in 1962 before joining the Los Angeles Lakers a year later. The same year he ended his playing career, Nelson joined the Milwaukee Bucks as an assistant coach before taking over as head coach 18 games into the season. He was the only member of the list who never won an NBA title in his coaching career.
