£200,000 grant helps Borders baby charity expand early support

Selkirk-based Nurture the Borders received the funding from the 1001 Critical Days Foundation to help more families across the region access early specialist support from pregnancy through to a child’s second birthday.
Research shows that the first 1,001 days, from pregnancy to age two, are crucial in shaping a child’s development, health, and emotional wellbeing.
"Together, we can ensure more Borders babies have the strongest possible foundations for lifelong emotional health, wellbeing and resilience."
The funding will strengthen the charity’s Nurture Early Relationships Pathway, which supports parents and carers in building nurturing bonds with their babies from the very beginning.
Will Quince, chief executive of the 1001 Critical Days Foundation, said: "Where a baby is born should not determine whether their family can get support early.
