Gold medal winner Dame Kelly Holmes led the briefing at Kesgrave parkrun before joining runners in the free weekly 5km run. Speaking at the briefing ahead of the Kesgrave parkrun, Dame Kelly said: "Sometimes when I am injured, which is most of the time, I turn up, I walk, I do marshalling, I walk-run, and then I go and do my best when I can. Of the nearly 250 runners that were given a time, Dame Kelly finished ninth and was the highest finished woman with a time of 19 minutes and 48 seconds. Dame Kelly Holmes also took part in that event, held in Bushy Park in Southwest London, where the first parkrun event was in held in 2004.
